Concord swimmer signs national letter of intent

Concord High School swimmer, Trent Chamness, signed his national letter of intent with Valparaiso University on Wednesday.  He was team captain and Most Valuable Swimmer for 2013.

Concord's Head Swim Coach, Tom Johnson, is very optimistic for Trent's future at Valpo.  "We have a lot of reason to believe Trent's going to keep getting faster," Johnson said, "he was late to our sport, he started swimming in his Junior year of high school;  In really a year and a half he has made tremendous progress."

Trent is excited to get to meet his new teammates at Valpariso.  "I am looking forward to traveling with the team and spending a lot of time with those guys," Chamness said, "and having some great memories."

Trent is graduating with a 3.72 grade point average, which ranks in the top 12% of his class.  He intends on majoring in Economics with a minor in sports management.
