Congressman Stutzman sits down with FOX28

Indiana Congressman Marlin Stutzman is touring the district right now.  He stopped by our studio to sit down with FOX28's Tom Powell.

Stutzman was asked about the partisan divide in Washington.  He said the parties have starkly different ideas about what direction our country should go, but he also said there is also a lot of agreement going on in D.C. that doesn't necessarily make headlines.

"There are a lot of other things that we do work on that we do pass, bipartisan votes, but those don't get as much attention as the differences do," Stutzman said.

Stutzman also talked about a case out of Philadelphia that he believes isn't getting enough national attention.  Abortion provider Dr. Kermit Gosnell is on trial for murder.  Gosnell is accused of killing babies with scissors that were used to cut their spinal cords.  Gosnell's defense attorney claims none of the infants were killed.

Congressman Stutzman recently spoke about the case in Washington.  "We went to the house floor to make sure that we were talking about it, letting folks know that congress is paying attention and that this sort of operation is not acceptable in the Unites States," Stutzman said.

The Congressman addressed a number of issues in today's interview.  Click on the video to hear his thoughts about everything from the current debate about gun laws, gay marriage and how to move the economy forward.
