SJRMC House Raffle winner revealed

A Michiana resident is now the proud owner of a new house. Thanks to the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center's annual house raffle.

And the winner is James Basney of Granger.

Basney won a two story, three bedroom home valued at $350-thousand dollars.

If Basney does not want the house he can choose the alternate prize of 105-thousand dollars.

The second big prize was a brand new car from Gurley-Leep.

Eldridge and Virginia Chisholm from Granger won the new set of wheels.

"The reason the house raffle is so popular, this is the 22nd home we've given away, is because the charities are so wonderful," said Chief Development Officer at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center At Saint Joe Regional Medical Center Ann Rathburn-Lacopo. "You're helping those people who don't have health insurance at the Maura Brannick Health Center."

Proceeds also go to the Women's Care Center.

One lucky person has a chance to win a new home, and on Friday people in Michiana will find out who that person is.

Ann Rathburn-Lacopo The St. Joseph Regional Medical Center is raffling off a $350-thousand dollar home located in Bradford Shores at Knollwood. It is a two-story house with three bedrooms, two and a half baths and a three-car garage amongst other features.

The winner can also accept a $105-thousand dollar cash prize. The medical center says there are also 41 other prizes up for grabs, including cars and cash.

The winner will be announced at 5 p.m. at the medical center's Mishawaka location.

All proceeds from the raffle benefit the medical center's Sister Maura Brannick, CSC Health Center, which provides care to the under served, and the Women's Care Center, which helps mothers and their babies.
