The Notre Dame softball team entered the final regular season series with 9th ranked Louisville with a chance to win the Big East title... but the Irish split the double-header it all came down to game three, at home on senior day.

The Irish (41-12, 19-3 BIG EAST) struck quickly in the bottom of the first inning, Laura Winter roped an RBI single to left field that scored Koerner from second to put Notre Dame in front 1-0.
Cassidy Whidden made the most of a bases loaded opportunity in the bottom of the fifth, sending a scorching double to the gap in left center, scoring Jenna Simon and Winter to extend the Irish cushion to 3-0.
Louisville got on the scoreboard in the top of the seventh inning, as Katie Keller grooved a 2-2 pitch over the center field wall to bring the Cardinals within two runs at 3-1.  But Haus snagged a line drive for the final out, clinching the 14th conference regular season championship for the Irish.
