Posted:

The Downtown Dining Alliance of South Bend will be hosting monthly "Wine Walks" throughout the summer, and your first chance to get in on the event is Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m.

Participants will get the opportunity to sample wines paired with appetizers from a number of restaurants throughout the city including:

  • Baker's Restaurant at the DoubleTree Hotel
  • Cafe Navarre
  • Chicory Cafe
  • East Bank Emporium
  • Fiddler's Hearth Public House
  • LaSalle Grill/Club LaSalle
  • South Bend Chocolate Cafe
  • Sunny Italy Cafe
  • Tippecanoe Place Restaurant
  • The Vine

The walk costs $40-dollars and walkers will get a wrist band to go to each of the restaurants. $10 dollars of each ticket will go to a select charity.

"Wicked" is the theme for Wednesday, in honor of the Broadway musical coming to South Bend's Morris Performing Arts Center.

Dream Coach Carriages will provide free horse-drawn carriage rides for walkers if weather permits. Shuttle service to the East Bank Village will be provided by the DoubleTree Hotel's "Sweetest Ride Van."
