Free child identification offered in Michigan

Three Oaks was aiming to keep kids safe Saturday.  They held a public safety day.  As part of the day a free child identification program was offered.

Kids had their fingerprints and pictures taken.  All the information is given to parents who can give it to police if their child is ever abducted.  Organizers say the news this week of three missing girls found in Cleveland has brought the issue to the forefront of everyone's thoughts, which is why they hope people take advantage of the child id program.  "If a child is abducted each minute that goes by they could be that much further form the area of the abduction so you really want to get that info out quickly," said Chris Siebenmark with the Three Oaks Masonic Lodge #239.

If you couldn't make today's event there will be more in the future.  Check the calendar of events here.
