Upton takes questions about Entergy and campaign funds

Protestors outside Palisades Power Plant in Covert Township, Michigan raised concerns that Congressman Fred Upton may not be objective about the plant.

During Monday's news conference about a leak at the plant, Upton was asked about campaign funding from Entergy.

He says he would never play politics when it comes to safety.

"I have made it known in public testimony before our committee, private talks with not only Entergy, but also the NRC, that this is to be a safely run plant if it is to operate at all.," says Upton.

Upton says the next step to ensuring safety is to make sure the leak is taken care of before the plant is put back online, and that could take some time.
