Standoff follows shots fired in Mishawaka


Two men involved in a standoff Tuesday morning are in police custody for questioning.  Mishawaka police say they received a report of gun shots fired near East 3rd Street and Pine just before 9:00am.

When police arrived, they came to  the conclusion that the shots came from a home on the 400 block of E. 3rd Street.  Police tried to make contact with two men inside, but they refused to come out.  After about 45 minutes, two men exited the house and were taken into custody.

Mishawaka police say no arrests have been made at this time, but the case remains under investigation.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Mishawaka Police Department Detective Bureau at 574-258-1684
