Mishawaka Police honor their fallen

The Mishawaka Police department held their police memorial Wednesday at their memorial outside the police station.  Current and past police officers, members of the community, and family of officers who have been killed in the line of duty, were there for the ceremony.

Mishawaka Police Chief, Kenneth Witkowski, said it is a difficult day, but one that is important.  "It brings back times that you have to address," Chief Witkowski said, "you have to look at, not necessarily memories that are fond of our department of things that happen, but it's all about honoring the guys that gave the ultimate sacrifice."

Mishawaka has lost four officers and a K9 in the line of duty.
