South Bend warns of aggressive door-to-door salespeople

The City of South Bend is warning residents of overly aggressive salespeople in the area.  The city's 311 service line says they have been getting a lot of calls lately about salespeople using suspicious and "unduly aggressive tactics" when selling door-to-door.

South Bend Police Captain Phil Trent told FOX28 News in a written release, "salespeople have claimed that the City recommends certain neighborhoods or endorses products. Those claims are false and should be reported to the South Bend Police Department."

Any door-to-door salesperson must be licensed by the city and must show their license if you ask them to do so.  Police remind you that, licensed or not, you should report any suspicious or aggressive behavior to South Bend Police.
