Wakarusa RV manufacturing jobs moving to Decatur

Posted:

A local RV manufacturer is changing hands.  Navistar has sold several brands, including Monaco and Holiday Rambler, to Allied Specialty Vehicles (ASV).

Navistar Monaco and Holiday Rambler motorized RV's are built in Wakarusa.  ASV has also purchased R-Vision and Holiday Rambler towable brands which are built in Harrisburg, OR.

ASV will be moving production to their Decatur facility sometime in August.  Representatives say many current employees at the Wakarusa plant will be offered jobs in Decatur or other ASV facilities.  ASV says there is a buyer interested in purchasing the Wakarusa plant, but did not release any other details on that sale.

Bison Coach in Milford has not been sold.  The Elkhart Indiana Navistar facility will not be sold either, but it will be leased by ASV for several years.

"We continue to focus on our North America core businesses and the sale of Navistar RV represents another important step in our Return-On-Invested-Capital review process," said Jack Allen, Navistar chief operating officer  in a written statement. "These are three strong brands with world-class products and ASV will be able to create more value in the business than we could ourselves."

We will have updates on FOX28.com and FOX28 News at 10.
