The teen convicted in the shooting death of a 16-year-old in South Bend last summer was sentenced on Tuesday.  Damontray Lovelady was sentenced to 50 years in prison.

Police found the body of 16-year-old Jhaelon Johnson lying in the sidewalk near Washington and Dundee in September of 2012.  Two other people were also shot, but are expected to recover.

18-year-old Damontray Lovelady was arrested and charged in the shootings.  Lovelady plead guilty to the Murder charge in April.  As part of the plea agreement, additional charges of Carrying a Handgun Without a Permit and Carrying a Handgun After Having Been Convicted of Carrying a Handgun were dismissed.
