South Bend charity sending truck loads to Oklahoma

About 80,000 pounds of supplies are heading down to Moore, OK thanks to a South Bend-based charity organization.  Feed the Hungry is loading two trucks with drinks and ready-to-eat meals for the victims of the tornado that decimated the town.

Feed the Hungry's Director of Logistics, Robert Boucek, says in the early days following a disaster it is crucially important to get food and water to victims.  They are often dehydrated, and may not know where their next meal is coming from.

The organization has teamed with a church three miles south of the tornado's path that will act as a distribution center for the supplies.

If you want to help with their relief efforts, Boucek says they have enough food.  What they need more than anything are cash donations to help pay for gas.  You can donate on their website,

Feed the Hungry has these two trips planned, but will continue sending supplies as long as their is a need in Oklahoma.
