Michiana is celebrating Memorial Day all weekend long.  Below you can find a list of several events going on around the area:

6th Annual Flags from the Heart
Friday, May 24th, 2013 - Sunday, May 26, 2013
Central Park, downtown Elkhart
Honor a loved one with a 3' x 5' dedicated flag.  Each flag will include your dedication and will be displayed over 2013 Memorial Day weekend.
$25 per new dedicated flag

Free admission at museums for veterans
The Studebaker National Museum and the Center for History are joining with more than 1,500 other museums across the country to offer free admission to all U.S. military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day as part of the Blue Star Museums program.  A military ID is required for admission.

Silver Hawks' Memorial Day Weekend Food Drive
Saturday, May 25th and Sunday, May 26th|
10:00am - 5:00pm
Coveleski Stadium
Fans that donate non-perishable food items, or make a cash donation of $10.00 or more, will receive 2 ticket vouchers to the Silver Hawks' game on Wednesday, June 5th

Dedication of memorial headstone for Cpl. Mark L. Wilt
Sunday, May 26th
8:30 p.m.
Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury St., Elkhart, IN 46516
A candlelight vigil will follow the dedication from dusk to dawn.

Osceola Memorial Day Parade
Monday, May 27th
8:00am
Parade route map is available at www.ocba.us or by calling 674-0015. Tailgating before the parade along the route is encouraged.

Edwardsburg Memorial Day Parade
Monday, May 27th
10:00am
Parade will begin on Section St. with flag service occurring at Memorial Park during the parade. For more information contact the Edwardsburg Chamber of Commerce at 269-663-2244.

Goshen Parade (CANCELLED)
Monday, May 27th
10:15am
Parade will begin at Fifth and Jefferson and end at Oakridge Cemetery. Participants are asked to meet at the Police and Court Building at 9:30am.

Nappanee Parade (CANCELLED)
Monday, May 27th
10:30am
755 E. Van Buren St.
Parade will begin at Nappanee Elementary. Participants are asked to lineup at 10:00am.

Nappanee Memorial Day Ceremony
Monday, May 27th

11:00am
300 W. Lincoln St., Nappanee, IN
The ceremony at city hall will include an invocation from the mayor, performance of the national anthem, veterans tribute, music medley, honor roll, Civil War cannon salute and dismissal.

Daughters of the American Revolution Wreath-Laying Ceremony
Monday, May 27th

229 S. Second St., Elkhart, IN
The William Tufts Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and color guards from the Robert Miller Veterans Center of South Bend and Sons of the American Revolution invite the public to join them for a wreath-laying ceremony in front of the Municipal Building.

    UPDATE: Dowagiac Police report missing teenager Daven Lamont Brown has been located by his family and is unharmed. 
    Police say the family noticed "an increase in conversation" on social media after news reports came out that Brown was missing. They say those conversations led to information on where Brown might be, and he was found by family. Brown told police he was with friends the whole time he was reported missing and neglected to tell his family where he was.
