Free hearing aid trial offered at United Health Services

May is Better Hearing and Speech Month.

In honor of that, the Hearing and Speech center at United Health Services offered the opportunity for a free trial of hearing aids for those who are hard of hearing.

The program Thursday demonstrated new technology in hearing aids, as well as educating people about understanding hearing loss.

Audiologist Mary Jo Canady explained that many people think that they can hear, but they actually don't understand speech.

She said that hearing loss is happening in younger and younger people, "Because of our love for loud in this society. We like loud. We like things loud and it's affecting our hearing."

Although the free hearing aid trial was a one-day-only special, those interested in finding more information about United Health Services Hearing and Speech center can click here.
