As usual, DTSB will host its First Friday celebration during the evening. They're turning downtown into "Dog town" as they celebrate everything to do with canines.

  • Rescue Alley will be downtown from 5 to 9 to hold an adoption event.
  • There will be a Hunt and Sniff scavenger hunt from 5:30 to 7 on the gridiron.
  • Dogs can enjoy an agility course from 5 to 9.
  • There will be an Ugliest Dog Contest on the gridiron from 5 to 9.
  • The South Bend Police will have their K-9 units out to do demonstrations
  • Dream Coach Carriages will offer free "Waggin" rides for dogs and their owners.

There will also be a number of other events going on downtown including the first installment of the Outdoor Film Festival series brought to you by DTSB and the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center. They will be showing Disney's "Up!" on the gridiron at dusk.

People in South Bend will also be able to celebrate Greek Fest. It will be held at 52445 N. Ironwood Road starting Friday. There will be plenty of food and entertainment and a raffle worth $10-thousand dollars.
