UPDATE: One warning siren in Plymouth fixed, one still broken

Posted:

Marshall County Emergency Management reports that one of the two previously broken warning sirens has been fixed.

The remaining broken one is south of Plymouth city limits and there is no timetable to fix the unit. Electrical problems are the source of the problem officials say. The broken unit is located by the Plymouth Speedway on 11th Road.

With severe weather likely later today, it is especially important for residents to be on the lookout for potential weather dangers. Radio and meteorologists are both two sources for recommended when severe weather strikes.

Emergency Management says, "people who live in the area covered by the sirens should not rely solely on them to receive an alert regarding a tornado warning and should make sure emergency batteries are on hand for radio alerts from officials."

You can get severe weather alerts sent straight to your phone with FOX28 weather text alerts and the FOX28 Weather App (available for Android and iOS systems).
