Retirees raise donations for Miller's Vets

Posted:

Residents of The Sanctuary at St Paul's, in South Bend, spent Flag Day raising donations for Miller's Vets.  They donated items such as towels, blinkers, and toiletries to support the Miller's Vets program.  Miller's Vets are made up of homeless veterans living in South Bend.

The Mission Committee Chair at The Sanctuary at St. Paul's , Eldon Heatwole, was not surprised by the support the residents had for this program.  They have 70 veterans living at the retirement community.  "They are very interested in their fellow vets and how their lives are today," Heatwole said, "so we selected this day to be the day of our drive and to collect these items and will deliver them to the shelter."
