Tips lead to drug arrests

Multiple tips and traffic stops led police to the 900 block of Anchorage Road in Warsaw in connection to the distribution of acid (LSD) and marijuana Thursday afternoon.The bust led to the arrest of two individuals.

Resident of the home Nathan Ghrist, 32, was charged with dealing in marijuana, dealing in a Schedule I narcotic, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana over 30 grams, possession of a controlled substance and neglect of a child. Warsaw native Emmanuel Robert Long, 22, who was also in the home was charged with possession of marijuana.

Four additional warrants on other individuals have been filed with the Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office with potential other warrants to follow in the ongoing investigation into the activity at the home.

Children were also removed from the home and placed with family members.

    South Bend Common Councilman Henry Davis Jr. is taking a temporary leave of absence from his Council duties. In a letter to Council President Oliver Davis, Henry Davis Jr. said he is taking a medical leave to concentrate on his health. He said he is unable to comment on his July 19 arrest for Operating While Intoxicated, under the advisement of legal council.
