South Shore service to resume Monday after garbage truck damages tracks


Some news for commuters, South Shore will resume ALL regularly scheduled train service between South Bend and Michigan City on Monday.

The line has been bussing passengers between South Bend and Michigan City since Thursday morning.

A garbage truck got stuck under and damaged a bridge in Hudson Lake.  

Crews were able to get the materials and make repairs in order to restore train service ahead of schedule.

The first westbound train will be Train 12 and departs South Bend at 6:32 am ET.

The first eastbound train from Chicago will be Train 7, arriving South Bend at 12:08 p.m. ET
