Michiana woman gathering 2 thousand dresses for girls in need

Posted:

A Middlebury woman has set a goal to get 2 thousand dresses made, all out of pillowcases!

Gloria Martin says the dresses are for an organization called "Dress a Girl Around the World."

They provide dresses to girls living in impoverished areas.

She is encouraging the community to rally behind the cause, "I just took off with it and I think it's important that every little girl should own at least one dress," says Martin.

Martin says after all the dresses are done she'll be working on britches for boys.

If you'd like to help, visit Martin at Ace Hardware in Middlebury on the corner of State Road 13 and U.S. 20 or the Tulip Tree, inside the Ace Hardware. You can also reach her at 574-825-9146 or 574-849-5757 or gloryfay@hotmail.com.
