City of South Bend to help with tree clean-up

After a devastating storm last night, the city of South Bend is dealing with a lot of clean-up.

Most of the damage hit the Northwest side of the city, so the it is best to avoid those roads.

The city of South Bend says it will take days to clean-up all of the downed trees, but they can't clean up everything.

If you have a tree down in your yard and doesn't hang into the road, you'll have to take care of it on your own.

The Director of Transportation, Paul South, says don't assume the city already knows if there's a tree down on your street.

"If you see a tree that's not being addressed that needs to be addressed please call 311. It's been online since March," says South.

311 is a number for South Bend City Services. You can call 311 to report damage, or just ask a question. The number only works within the city limits, but if you live in South Bend and need to call the number you can dial 574-233-0311.
