The Lincoln Highway celebrates 100 years

A group of drivers are hitting the road in style to celebrate a milestone for the Lincoln Highway. The highway is celebrating 100 years with a nationwide tour.

People from around the US and the world are driving classic cars, motorcycles and modern-day cars to commemorate the milestone. The tour recognizes the road as the first paved road that ran from Times Square to California. Some parts are even made of brick.

Brian Gomez a driver on the Lincoln Highway Anniversary Tour said, "Its actually been a dream of my aunt and I to do, to travel the Lincoln Highway. All of our lives we've been associated with the Lincoln Highway. She grew up one block from the highway. And when I lived in her home I was two to three blocks from the highway."

Gomez picked up his ride, a 1993 Rover Mini-Cooper, a few months ago so he could drive in style with his aunt.
