Heroin awareness walk held in LaPorte

A community walk today was held in LaPorte to bring awareness to heroin addiction in the county. The goal of the event was to show support for local law enforcement in dealing with heroin problems.

A man whose son recently died of an overdose teamed up with Worthy the Women Recovery home and the LaPorte County Family YMCA to hold the event.

Sonshine Troche, Founder of Worthy the Women Recovery Home said, "This is a great way to expose the unity and promoting more good and fighting this terrible drug issue we have here in LaPorte."

Over 300 people attended the event, including LaPorte mayor Blair Milo.
