Women Build kicks off in Mishawaka

The 13th annual Habitat for Humanity Women Build kicked off Monday, in Mishawaka, with a ceremonial ground breaking.  The Women's Build unites local women to build homes for Habitat for Humanity in St. Joseph County.  The home being built will be located on Thirteenth Street in Mishawaka.

The Chair of Women Build, Jane Pitz, says this is a great opportunity for women in the community to learn how to build a home, while working side by side with other women.  "It is so much fun to work with other women," Pitz says, "and doing something together takes you outside yourself."

Future home owner, Mathew Rockwell, says he can close his eyes and picture what his house is going to look like.  "It's going to be a blessful process," Rockwell says, "and it's going to be really fun and I just can't wait to provide the stability for my family that they deserve."

The Women's Build will actually begin construction August 10th and will continue through October 5th this year.  For more information about Women Build, visit Habitat for Humanity.
