Fireworks safety urged by officials

With all the celebrations planned for tomorrow it's important to stay safe.  Fire officials say the most important thing when shooting off fireworks is to use common sense.

They also say parent supervision is a must if young children are around.  All the rain we've gotten lately will also help because the ground is less flammable.

"But still you have to practice good safety precautions like have a water supply available, fire extinguisher, when the unexpected arises you are prepared to take care of it," says Captain Chuck Steele of the SBFD.

They say one of the safest ways to enjoy fireworks is to go to a public display.
