Benefit concert for Argos teen injured in crash

Posted:

There will be a benefit concert for 15-year-old Courtney DeMont.

The teen was badly injured in a car crash in April.

DeMont just came back to her hometown of Argos Wednesday after months at Memorial Hospital.

FOX 28 reported in May, a classmate of Courtney's, Richii Zieber, wrote a song for her and sold copies of it to benefit her.

Now, he and his father have organized a benefit concert on Saturday, July 13th.

The concert will be held at Young Amphitheater in Plymouth.

It's from 11:30am til 11:00pm. Five bands will play and costs $10 dollars for adults, $5 for kids ages 4-12 and kids 3 and under are free.

"It's all about helping out. When my wife passed away in 2009, everybody was there for us and so it was our turn to be there for somebody else," says Jim Zieber who helped organize the concert.

Richii Zieber says, "I just want the best for Courtney and that's really all I'm doing this for."

The money raised will go into a trust fund for Courtney at the First Source Bank in Argos.
