Helping pets with noise anxiety

Now while you may enjoy Fourth of July fireworks, many pets don't feel the same way. Lots of dogs and cats aren't the biggest fans of loud noises, whether that's thunderstorms or fireworks.

The fear can range anywhere from just a little bit of nervousness and anxiety, to some pets being severely affected by storms fear or loud noises.

Veterinarian Dr. Rick Nelson says that medication is the recommended way to handle anxious pets.

"There's an anti-anxiety medication, that still has a bit of a sedative effect but are more directed at the anxiety portion of it and not as sedating"

Dr. Nelson also said that keeping your pet in an inner closet can help mild loud noise anxiety.
