Teen drowns during summer camp in LaGrange County

A teenager has drowned in LaGrange County.

An Indiana Conservation Officer tells us the victim is a 15 year-old boy.

It happened around 6 Monday afternoon at The Howe School Summer Camp.

Officer Jake Carlile says the camp was doing a group swimming activity in Cedar Lake when a lifeguard noticed the boy was missing.

He was found a short time later in about 8 feet of water.

The teen was then taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The case is under investigation by Indiana Conservation Officers.
