One person hurt in early morning shooting in South Bend

A woman was hurt in an early morning shooting in the 400 block of Sheridan Street Thursday morning.

South Bend Police got the call around 1:45 a.m. Police say a man and a woman were inside their home when the man heard something outside. He told police his tires were slashed and he saw four people standing nearby.

Police say at some point shots were fired, hitting the woman in the thigh. She was taken to the hospital where she was treated and released.

No one is currently in custody. Police do not believe this was a random act. They believe the man and the possible suspects may have had an altercation on Wednesday.
