Elkhart organizations team up to stop hunger

Posted:

Two Elkhart organizations are coming together to stop local hunger.

Sunday was the fifth annual Headlock on Hunger Food Drive. Church Community Services and Texas Roadhouse teamed up to collect money for the food bank.

For the past couple months, the restaurant gathered donations and Sunday 10 percent of all sales went to CCS. To celebrate the funds, the public was invited to enjoy live music, carnival games and a WWE style wrestling show featuring area Impact Christian Wrestling wrestlers.

"We like to give back to the community. CCS is such a great organization that does a lot of different things for the community," says Tommy Harrell, Texas Roadhouse Managing Partner.

"Texas Roadhouse gets it and that's important for us because the more help that we have in addressing the needs of hunger in our community, the better," says Rod Roberson, Executive Director of CCS.

Organizers say there are more opportunities to donate throughout the year.
