NIPSCO holds first open house about proposed line

Posted:

NIPSCO held its first public meeting on proposed transmission lines in North Central Indiana.

The meeting was at the Town Center in Shipshewana Monday.

NIPSCO is trying to answer questions that people have before they start constructing the lines.

The lines will be between Reynolds in White County and Topeka in LaGrange County.

The goal of the lines are to improve reliability while alleviating congestion.

"Reason for this open house is to show those lines to the people who live on the property, get their feedback find out what concerns they have. Things that we can avoid. Our goal is to make this project have the least impact on residents," says Kathleen Szot with NIPSCO.

After all the public input meetings, construction on the lines will start in late 2014.
