Memorial started near dumpster where police found dead fetus

The community has started a small memorial near where a dead fetus was found in a dumpster early Sunday morning.

32-year-old Purvi Patel is facing feticide charges.

Police say she went to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center late Saturday night saying she had a baby, but did not have the baby with her.

After questioning, the deceased fetus was found in a dumpster behind some businesses in the University Crossing Shopping Center on University Drive in Granger.

After Patel was arrested, community members put a wooden cross that says, "You are mourned little one" near the dumpster. There is also a stuffed animal and some flowers at the memorial.

Patel faces six to 20 years jail time if convicted of feticide.
