New road grants access to Mishawaka preserve

The Res in Mishawaka has been difficult to access since the new Capital Expressway viaduct opened in the end of June.

The Res, a nature preserve used for youth and business functions, was accessible directly off of the old Capital Avenue, but the new road is cut off from it.

Mayor Dave Wood opened the new Scout Lane on Wednesday.  Visitors are now able to come to The Res via Lincolnway, heading south on Kline St., then east on 7th St. which leads directly to the newly paved Scout Lane that leads to The Res parking lot.
