People in Niles walk to fight cancer

People fought cancer in Niles Saturday at the annual Relay for Life event. For twenty-four hours people walked to battle the disease.

Organizers said they've already raised over $50,000 for cancer research. By the end of the event they hope to have closer to $75,000 to $80,000 because they want an end to cancer.

Melanie Bizoe, the survivor chair said, "Almost everybody's been affected by cancer.  You have a co-worker, a spouse, a son, a daughter, an aunt, an uncle that's been hit by cancer.  So because of that we're fighting against that we want to have a world one day where it is cancer free."

Saturday night they were expecting hundreds of people at a survivor dinner.
