Rotary Club hosts 1st annual Golf Extravaganza

Posted:

It was a beautiful day to be on the golf course, even if you're not a golfer.

Sunday was the South Bend Rotary Club's first annual Golf Extravaganza. Coordinators say it was a day for everyone, even the non-golfers.

Participants could try out the dunk tank, eat cookout food, try out a golf clinic and participate in the long drive competition.

This was the first year, but organizers like Rick Reid say they are looking forward to many more. "We've had a great response and we're raising some great money for the charity. We have all the activities here and it's been a great day and a great first year for this."

The event is raising money for the South Bend Rotary Club charities and more festivities will take place at the Blackthorn Golf Club Monday with a dinner and luau dance.
