Cross replaced at Saint Mary's College

While Notre Dame has the Golden Dome, at Saint Mary's College they have Le Mans  Tower. Lightning struck the tower in 2006 damaging the cross on top.

Wednesday, construction crews hoisted the refurbished cross back into its place of prominence.

Gwen O'Brien, Director Of Media Relations at Saint Mary's College said, "The building was dedicated in 1926 and the president at the time was Mother Pauline.  She was actually the first president of the college, and she's known as the builder because she did build this building and our oldest building on campus."

Le Mans Tower is named for a city in France that was home to the congregation that eventually founded St. Mary's College.
