Elkhart County Sheriff discusses gun rights

Posted:

Elkhart County Sheriff Brad Rogers got a warm reception Monday evening as he spoke to the Tea Party Group, "Elkhart County Patriots."

The Sheriff gave a speech about the 2nd Amendment.

He says gun rights are a Constitutional issue not a partisan issue.

Rogers says Americans would not accept legislation limiting freedom of religion or freedom of the press, and the same should be true for gun legislation.

Sheriff Brad Rogers says, "I say hands off.  I am not going to be a part of any Federal Legislation and I continue to persist that I will not enforce any new anti-gun laws, clapping."

The Sheriff also talked about his opposition to any federal legislation calling for universal background checks.

He says quote, "They should keep their noses out of it."
