Faster internet coming to rural northern Indiana

New broadband internet is coming to rural areas in Northern Indiana.  That is what Axess America announced Tuesday morning in Nappanee.

Axess America specializes in bringing broadband internet to rural areas.   Initially the network will be in place for Marshall, Kosciusko, Elkhart, and St. Joseph Counties, though they do expect to expand.

Local officials say slow connections is a complaint they hear often.  "Over and over, no matter if it's a very small business or a business that's wanting to grow here or on the other end of town, 'How do we connect? How do we communicate?' and that just keeps coming up over and over again," says Nappanee Mayor Larry Thompson.

The company also plans on bringing various jobs to the area such as engineering and customer service.
