Ruthmere Mansion offers free ice cream and tours

Sunday was the perfect day for ice cream, especially when it's free! It was the Ruthmere Mansion's annual ice cream social AND Free Family Sunday.

Visitors could tour the mansion for no cost, get some sweet refreshments and listen to a barbershop quartet.

"This is usually one of our biggest attendance events of the year. We expect to have 600-700 people here," says Bill Firstenberger, executive director of the mansion.

The Free Family Sunday's take place the first Sunday of every month through November.

    A 42 year old Elkhart man was pronounced dead at the scene of a motorcycle accident Sunday just before 11 AM. The motorcycle driver was driving his Harley Davidson eastbound on US 20, when he crossed the center line near CO RD 13.
