Air show coming to Warsaw this weekend

Posted:

Some high fliers are heading to Warsaw this weekend.  The Warsaw Municipal Airport is hosting an Air Show on Saturday, August 17.

Events start at 9:00am and run to 3:00pm.  It will include a 2 hour-long acrobatic air show at 1:00pm, a skydiver dropping in with an American flag, and plane rides.

Admission is free, though there is a fee for the plane rides. Local food vendors will also be on hand.

Organizers of the event say they're happy about the response they've received.

"Aircrafts coming out, people saying they want to volunteer, and just the general excitement overall from the people in Warsaw, that makes it very special," says Brian Walsh of WIOE radio.

Kelly Lackey, who helped organize the Air show, says, "It's a great time for family and friends to come out and enjoy a lot of airplanes and just to kind of get some enthusiasm going for the aviation community"
