Michiana families soaking up the last days of summer

Posted:

The signs of summer ending are here, pools closing and parents worrying about getting their kids set for school.  Father of four, Paul Harris said the last couple weeks have been spent, "school shopping and just trying to get them ready to go to bed early."

Before the chaos of a new school year begins Harris and his kids are soaking up every last bit of summer.  "Coming to the park, being outside cause summer's almost over with," said Harris.

They aren't the only family trying to make the most of the last days of summer.  Potawatomi Park was packed with parents and kids Sunday afternoon.  Father Jesse Bragg said,  "just trying to get out and enjoy the sun."  Father Cesar Arriga said, "just having fun being here at kids kingdom"

Whether out at the park or at home parents want to make the most of this time with their kids.  Arriga said, "having fun with the family, cookouts before they go back to school."

Because once school starts Harris said, "time is gonna be like limited cause they're gonna have school work when they get out of school and then they're gonna have activities at school going on."
