Police shoot, kill dog after it attacks officer at Mishawaka park


Mishawaka Police say an officer had to shoot and kill a dog that was attacking him.

Police say the officer had been sent to Battell Park after police received complaints of a group of people smoking marijuana. Police say while making contact with a group on the bridge between Battell and Beutter Parks, the officer was attacked by a dog.

Police say the officer, a pit bull mix, was shot and killed by the officer.

The officer was treated for multiple bite wounds.
