Moving Vietnam Memorial comes to Three Oaks

A half sized Vietnam Memorial made its way to Three Oaks, Michigan on Thursday.  The memorial was escorted by police and dozens of motorcycles.  The memorial is on display outside the American Legion post 204.

The Commander of Post 204, Mike Shannon is very excited to have the memorial in Three Oaks.  "It means quite a bit," Shannon said, "there are 58,283 names on the wall of those killed in action or still counted as POW/MIA's and it's quite a honor for a small post and a small community to be able to bring this to our veterans."

The wall will be on display twenty four hours a day until 8 Monday morning.  Opening ceremonies will be conducted on August 23 at noon.

The Pokagon Fund and the Three Oaks Legion Post 204 is generously sponsoring this event free of charge. For more information about the wall or to make a tax-deductible donation please visit The Moving Wall.
