Irish say they trust in Tommy Rees's experience and leadership

While there are plenty of Notre Dame fans who doubt senior quarterback Tommy Rees's ability, the Irish say he's got the experience and leadership to lead them onward to victory.

"We have very good chemistry and a lot of it has to do with [Rees]," said offensive coordinator Chuck Martin. "He was kind of our offensive leader a year ago even as the back-up quarterback."

Part of the reason the Irish believe Rees can continue their program's success is because he has a strong bond with his teammates on and off the field.

"We have a lot of rhythm, a lot of chemistry," said TJ Jones, senior WR and team captain. "He's one of my best friends on the team."

The offensive lineman also have noticed some strong pocket poise and huddle presence from the senior QB this off-season.

"He's done a great job since the summer," said senior offensive lineman Chris Watt. "You know where he's going and what he's going to be doing."

It's not just the team that have noticed some great signs from Rees, even the QB himself says he's improved and is ready for a great year.

"I've gone through a lot of different situations. I've grown and learned from all of them," said Rees.
