Police: Speed and alcohol may have been factors in deadly crash

Warsaw Police and Kosciusko County FACT (Fatal Alcohol Crash Team) are investigating an early Sunday morning motorcycle crash that claimed the life of its driver.

Police say it happened in the 700 block of West Center Street, west of downtown Warsaw around 1:20am.

Police say 55-year-old Larry Templeton of Warsaw hit a parked pickup truck while driving eastbound on Center Street.

Police say Templeton was thrown from his bike and wasn't wearing a helmet.

Both speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash. Witnesses that heard the crash told police that "he was getting on it" immediately before the crash.
