Gatorade National Athlete of the Year Andrews settling in at ND

Notre Dame might still be a few days away from Football season, but the women's soccer team has already started up.

This could be a great year for the Irish as they bring in freshman phenom Morgan Andrews. She won Gatorade High School National Athlete of the Year and could be a big time difference maker for the team.

"It's been so exciting," Andrews said, after wrapping up her first weekend playing for the Irish. "Especially playing with this group of girls because they're so exciting to play with. They're get people and great players."

Andrews was unable to put up any points in her first two games, but the tenth ranked Irish were able to pick up two wins and start the season 2-0.

"Obviously there's a lot of individual work left to be done, but it's a team game," said Andrews. "I'm working hard with my team and we're getting results. We just have to keep working."

After two games the freshman said she still is adjusting to the pace of the college game.

"It's a whole lot faster and a whole lot more aggressive," said Andrews. "I just have to remember to be myself and keep playing hard."

Andrews and the Irish will play their third game of the season Friday at home against Oakland.
