Mishawaka Police take part in rail safety blitz


All across Indiana police are hoping to keep people safe on railroad tracks this week. August 25 through 31 marks the statewide Rail Safety Week.

On Friday Mishawaka police will be keeping an extra careful eye out for illegal activity on railroad tracks. They will have a railroad blitz, which means they along with Indiana State Police and railroad special agents will be watch for people who cross the tracks when control signals are blinking or people who trespass on foot.

There are also a number of other blitzes happening throughout the state this week.
