LaVille leaving the NSC to join new Athletic Conference

Posted:

On Friday afternoon, the LaVille Athletic Department confirmed it has intentions to leave the Northern State Conference and join a newly formed athletic conference with Caston, Culver, Knox, North Judson-San Pierre, Pioneer, Triton, and Winamac.  FOX28 reported last week that Triton was also leading the NSC.

LaVille Athletic Director Will Hostrawser says this conference would place them against schools more similar to them.  "The biggest deciding factor in this move has to do with the competitiveness we are constantly trying to build up LaVille and our reputation in terms of academics," LaVille said, "and athletics and I think if we can put our kids in what we deem a little bit more competitive situation we have a better chance of getting more student athletes involved in all sports, which in terms will help us academically."

The move is pending a September 12th school board meeting.
