Looking for something fun to do this holiday weekend with friends and family?  Then look no further than the 57th annual Hesston Steam and Power Show in LaPorte.

It's a four day Labor Day Steam Show that attracts some 12,000 visitors.  Each day, the show opens at 10:00am and closes at 5:00pm central time.

It's one of Indiana's top 10 festivals and was named as one of the region's top 10 must see locations by Northwest Indiana Business.

There's education and entertainment for the whole family, with steam train rides and turn-of-century demonstrations of steam power.

It also features a 1900s train depot, a steam-powered saw mill, the LaPorte County Courthouse's first electric generator plant, steam tractors, and a 1929, 67-ton logging locomotive.

Refreshments are available. Popcorn is made in a steam-powered popcorn machine, and old fashioned soda pop is available.

Hesston Steam Museum Gift shop will have toys and books available for kids.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for kids ages 3-12, parking is free.

It runs through September 2.
